To Purchase Art Work Go

|
Working with fabric, color and
texture has always been a source of
jubilation for me. I manipulated and
dye natural fiber to create
innovative assemblages on art quilts
and one-of-a-kind wall pieces. I
seek to tap into levels of myself
and when I teach, to help others to
do the same- to reach deep inside
and bring up… ourselves. I allow the
materials I work with and create, to
focus me intuitively. Each piece
seems to have an expression of its
own. I act as the facilitator. The
work begins as an idea form nature
of a dream, a treasured moment or
insight. Thus inspired and wrought
with joy, they become real. A sweet
fruition of spirit.
Redmond has been a fiber artist
since 1978. Batik and weaving
evolved into folk art quilts and a
love of the modern art quilt
expression. After college, she
continued her fiber education
through various workshops as North
Country Studios at Bennington
College, VT, and Haystack Mountains
School of Craft, Deer Isle, ME. She
continues to evolve and experiment.
Her latest work centers on abstract
expressionism using dyed natural
material and surface design.
