To Purchase Art Work Go

|
My work is reflective of my
interest in humans: the paths we
take, the faces we wear, and the
connection between the two. But, it
is created out of a need to
communicate.
Many of my pieces are social and
political commentary. Creating them
is a way to focus on and explore my
own thoughts. For the sake of
sanity, I balance those with works
made for pure pleasure and the
beauty of the piece. I am also just
enamored of the physical process,
the challenge and the exploration.
Jeanne McCartin has been a
sculptor-mask maker for over two
decades. Her work combines sculpture
and mixed media with her interest in
social/political issue, symbols,
metaphysics, and the dramatic. She
studied at Vesper George School of
Art, Boston, MA, and Sanctuary Arts,
Eliot ME.
All masks are created from
one-of-a-kind plasticine (clay)
sculpture or are made in limited
numbers from a mold created from an
original sculpture, as part of a
series’ statement.
